Skin RN Aesthetics offers laser tattoo removal with the state-of-the-art Quanta Q-Plus Laser. Laser technology has come a long way in the past few years, so if you’re thinking of getting tattoo removal, here’s a few things you may want to consider.
How Does Tattoo Removal Work?
The device that we use can treat a variety of inks and colors using four different wavelengths of PhotoAcoustic energy that penetrates the surface of the skin and shatters the ink into microscopic particles. These harmless particles are then absorbed into the lymph system and passed out of the body as waste. The easiest tattoos to remove are black because we can use a single wavelength to treat the entire area. Colorful tattoos take a little more time but they can also be removed with this laser.
It Hurt When It Went On … Will It Hurt When It Comes Off?
We won’t sugar coat it here … yes, it hurts. Most patients say that the feeling is similar to actually getting the tattoo. Every time the laser pulses, it will feel like a rubber band snapping on your skin followed by a feeling of warmth.
We’ve been doing tattoo removal since 2003 and if there were a more effective and less painful way to get it done, we’d do it. To date we’ve tried different lasers, balms, and even a little tattoo voodoo but have never found a more effective treatment.
How Many Tattoo Removal Treatments Are Required?
It depends on the size, colors, and type of ink that was used. Usually, it will take 6 to 15 treatments. The best way to decide if you want to start getting laser tattoo removal is to schedule a free consultation. We’ll do our best to tell you how many treatments you’re going to need.
WARNING … READ THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY TATTOO REMOVAL!
Now that you know that the journey to “inkless” skin can be a long one, you may decide to look into other options. That’s cool. But before you decide to do ANYTHING for your tattoo removal, make sure that it won’t permanently scar the skin. There’s a lot of stuff out there that are being touted as the “latest-and-greatest” thing … too many to keep up with.
We’ve tried several of these over the years and found that one of the most common problems involve a “balm” or some other concoction to remove the tattoo, only to be left with a scar in it’s place. So please … be careful. Tattoos are one of the most technical and challenging things to fix in aesthetic skin care.
If You’ve Already Been Scarred From Trying Something Else
The good news is that if you’ve been scarred from tattoo removal in the past, we can treat it with laser skin resurfacing. But since every scar is different, you’ll need to come in for a free consultation.
